
APFA is a FIPFA-affiliated body, allowing Australia to both compete in and host international level competition. APFA and Australia have hosted the Asia Pacific Oceania (APO) Cup in 2013, 2019 and 2025, and also hosted FIPFA World Cup in 2023.

Teams from France, England, Italy, Belgium, Denmark, the United States of America, Argentina, Uruguay, Japan and Australia will battle it out for the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup Trophy!

2025 Asia Pacific Oceania (APO) Cup
The Australian Poweroos are the winners of the 2025 APO Cup! The Poweroos claimed top spot following the round robin stage before defeating the Republic of Korea in their semi final, claiming their spot in the decider.
Facing off against fierce rivals Japan, the Poweroos prevailed in a tense and at times nail-biting finale 2-1 to retain the APO Cup and defend their 2019 title.
This result sees the Australian Poweroos qualify for the 2026 FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup, set to be held next October in Argentina!

2025 FIPFA Club World Cup

The inaugural FIPFA Powerchair Football Club World Cup will take place in Bobigny, Paris, France in June 2025, bringing together the top club sides from around the world.
The Western Sydney Wanderers represented Australia, finishing in 9th place! Well done for a great tournament!

Australia hosted the 4th edition of the FIPFA Powerchair Football World Cup in Sydney, at Sydney Olympic Park’s Quaycentre.
