A range of counselling and clinical services is provided to women with an unplanned pregnancy. As the Royal Women's Hospital is Victoria's largest public provider of termination of pregnancy services, the intake and counselling components of the service have dedicated staff ensuring efficient work flow in what is a very high demand service.

A major surgical service, often the target of extreme opposition, PAS must observe stringent legal requirements at both its entry and exit points.

The service is open between 9.00am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday and can be accessed either by telephone or in person. After hours messages can be left on the PAS answering machine and a telephone counsellor will respond at the earliest opportunity during business hours.
